who is stefania zen yoga?

My Yoga  journey began nearly two decades ago, sparked by a personal quest for relief from scoliosis-induced back pain. Originally from Kyiv, I transitioned from administrative roles to working on film sets before settling in Paris in 2015 where I began teaching corporate yoga to alleviate tension and back pain among office colleagues.

Having deepened  my knowledge in Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga through studies in Rishikesh in 2022, further I had an opportunity to expand my expertise to include teaching Anatomy and Sequencing at a teacher training school in India. Now based in Sri Lanka, I am happy to welcome practitioners of all levels to join on a transformative journey, exploring the profound connection between mind and body through yoga. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or new to yoga, experience the joy of fostering overall well-being under my guidance.

In May, the climate in Marrakesh and the Sahara Desert is generally warm and inviting, making it a great time to visit:

  • Marrakesh: Expect daytime temperatures to range from the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (around 24-30°C), with cooler evenings that can drop to about 60°F (16°C). The weather is mostly sunny, making it ideal for exploring the city and its surroundings.

  • Sahara Desert: The desert experiences larger temperature swings. Daytime temperatures can soar to around 95°F (35°C) or higher, while nights are significantly cooler. Visitors should prepare for daytime heat and bring layers for the cooler evenings.

For a trip to Marrakesh and the Sahara Desert in May, you’ll want to pack a mix of clothing to accommodate warm days and cooler evenings. Here’s a suggested packing list:

  1. Lightweight, Breathable Clothing: Pack light cotton or linen clothing that covers your arms and legs to protect you from the sun and adhere to local customs, especially when visiting mosques or religious sites.

  2. Layering Options: Include a few items for layering, such as long-sleeve shirts, a lightweight sweater or fleece, and a jacket for cooler evenings and nights, particularly in the desert.

  3. Comfortable Footwear: Bring comfortable walking shoes for exploring cities like Marrakesh. For the Sahara Desert, closed-toe shoes or sturdy sandals suitable for sand and possibly rocky terrain are essential.

  5. Scarf or Shawl: A scarf or shawl is versatile for both sun protection during the day and warmth at night. It can also be used for modesty in more conservative areas.

  6. Backpack or Day Bag: A small backpack or day bag will be useful for carrying water, snacks, camera, and other essentials during day trips or excursions.

  7. Swimwear: If your accommodation has a pool or if you plan to visit a hammam (traditional bathhouse), bring swimwear.
